The cheapest way out of Ulaan Baatar is the train. From Ulaan Baatar, you can go to Beijing or Moscow. This line is best known as the Orient Express. Tickets from Ulaan Baatar to Beijing run as low as $100. It is a 30 hour ride. The first day you get a nice view of the Gobi dessert. At approximately midnight, you cross the border into China.
